K&N or Amsoil air filter unavailable V70-XC70 2001

The renewed Brickboard debate about K & N air filters is merely academic for the 20001 XC. K & N and Amsoil have both informed me that they do not have filters for this model at this time. Amsoil thinks that perhaps a Hastings AF431 will fit. I don't want to re-open a debate on their effectiveness. Anyone know anything about Hastings filters? Is the filter for the XC the same as for the previous V70 models?
