Tapping Noise in the Engine 850 93

My 850 has been sitting in the garage unused for the last three weeks while I was out of town. Today when I started it, a tapping noise came from the engine. I thought perhaps one of the lifters had leaked down and would pump up within a few seconds but it just kept tapping. I'm not certain that it is a lifter but it sounds like it. The car only has 48k miles with oil changed every 3k. Hard to imagine what else could cause the tapping noise. Thoughts/comments?
