tailgate wiper blades recommendations V70-XC70 1998

I use your standard run of the mill blade from the parts store. I have to clean the blade one every few weeks with a paper towel drenched in rubbing alcohol. The combination of rain X washer, road salt, sand, whatever else is on the road coats the already cheap rubber of the blade pretty quick. Of course at the same time, the rear wiper solvent jets don't help especially if your windows is dried and caked with road schmeg...even I have to keep the sprayer going for a good 6 seconds before it really spreads evenly and I can "see".

As soon as I do this to all of my wipers I noticed an immediate increase. Just be careful if you try this. You have to be careful not to tear the actual wiper portion (blade) from the rest of the wiper...I usually just squeeze one end of the wiper and wipe in the opposite direction.

Prior to this I was replacing wipers 2 to 3 times a year...now its once a year at that.

Steve
