Tracs won't work in the mud V70-XC70

Hello all. I have been doing new construction and the road is still dirt, 3 inches of mud now. My wife drives the 2000 V70 AWD and gets it stuck at the bottom of the hill everytime it rains and the mudd gets deep. I thought it was the way she was driving. I had to eat crow! The da--- car won't go up the hill. My 240 has the anti-spin diff. and has no problem with just a bit of wheel spin. I had to pull the fuse for ABS in order to get the car up and down the driveway. You can't move a car in the mud if the wheels won't spinn. I thought there might be something wrong with the tracs system, but it is fine. I learned a lesson. Don't go into the deep mudd and expect to get out 4WD is of no use with Tracs. Is there A switch I could install to cancel the Tracs, instead of pulling the fuse? Thanks, Pauli
