Need help with codes please 850 1994

Hello, I am new to the site having decided to abandon the Brits for a while, sell my 87 XJ6 and give the Swedes a try, can't be any worse for sure. I just bought, 2 days ago, a 94 850 Turbo and already have my first CEL. I had a situation where the CEL and the winter arrow started at the same time then the arrow reset itself and the CEL continues. I hate to ask but in the archives everyone diagnoses the problem with the fault codes but nowhere can I find how to retrieve or read them. I know such a basic thing is here somewhere but I have searched the archives every way I can think of and cannot find them. I sure would appreciate the help since I obviously must get it done quickly in case I have to go back to the previous owner. This is a great site, I hope I can help further it.
