Engine wash - tranny probems every time V70-XC70

I'm sure you've come to the conclusion yourself its the water. Where the water is going that makes this happen, I don't know. You've got the control box on the transmission, probably with a 10 or so year old gasket. Then you get the connections along the way. Water in any of that and you get yourself a problem.

While I don't think you're doing any permanent damage, remember getting the connections wet as such will speed up corrosion in them. That can lead to the connection failing a lot sooner than it usually would. Good news is that you know where to start looking if a problem occurs.
