Shift points 850 ALL

What are the best "shift points" for an 850/V70 with a manual transmission? IOW, at what RPM/mph do you guys shift to each gear? At what speeds is it okay to use 5th? My wife has a tendency to use 5th gear around town at 35-40mph. I tried to convince her that she's shifting way too early, and that this is bad for the engine. She claims that it improves fuel economy. This is probably true for all I know, but I tried driving "her way" and if you try to accelerate from 35-40mph in 5th the car barely responds and is very sluggish unless I downshift. Didn't they used to call this "lugging" in the old days?
