the "SERVICE" light is on. How do I reset that?

In short, you can't.

There are very expensive tools to do it, but it's not worth it.
You can take it to the dealer and pay a bunch of money every time, but it's not worth it either.

It's a simple counter - an easy calculation of some predetermined amount of running hours and miles.

There is one reasonable course of action : ignore the light until you have to go into the dash for something else (fix the dash mounts, replace the light bulbs, etc) and simply pull the light in that (service) location. Then you're fixed for good!
