Trunk LID removal / replace 850

Not a difficult job, but hard for one person due to the bulk and weight. Unplug the electricals, remove the inside cover, remove the lock because you want the old one in your new lid.

When you are ready, remove the 2 struts at the lid end but still attached to the body. Use a stick to prop the trunk open. Loosen the bolts that hold the deck lid to the hinge until they almost fall out. Climb in the trunk and hold up the lid while unscrewing it completely with your fingers. You might want a large towel between the window and the lid, no sense in scratching the lid.

When installing, tighten the bolts to the lid finger tight so you can slide the lid slightly to position it. Carefully open the lid and home one bolt on each side, checking the lid position afterwards. If good, home the other bolts and put the struts back on.
