Brake pad replacement V70-XC70 98

First of all let me say thanks to Rich from Fairfax, VA for the help. I wrote a week ago because the pads were gone on my 98 XC. I ended up calling IPD for new pads. The PBR dustless pads were about the same price as the local parts store for Bendix. Ipd was a big help and made suggestions on what I needed and sent the whole package> One thing to note if you go ontheir website, the pricing for a set of pads does both wheels either front or rear. The only thing that made mine more expensive was that it is Christmas and UPS will only guarantee overnight delivery this time of year. Wanting to get it done by this weekend, I went ahead and paid the overnight shipping cost. Now to the changing of the pads. Actually this was a piece of cake. I started one afternoon about 4 and was done all of them by 7 and cleaned up. I even stopped in the middle to eat dinner. Rich suggested I read Bay 13 at Volvospeed.com for info on hoe to change the pads. It was helpful. There is really on a couple of things I would add. First of all the brakes pictured for the rear brakes were wrong. But the brakes were easy to figure out. They were actually easier to change than the front. You will need a 15mm open end wrench to hold the inner nut while removing the bolt that holds on the caliper. The only other thing I would note is that on the front brakes, the rubber plugs that it says to remove should actually say caps on the rubber plugs to be removed. That's it, easy and a simple repair. In fact, If you haven't replaced your beakes I would recomend doing it just to get rid of the dust problem. I assume these pads will do as advertised and not cover my wheels with dust. Heck, I'd have paid Volvo another $100 for the car if they'd have put these on to begin with. That wheel cleaning is a pain in the butt. I'll update in 6 months or so and let everyone know if these pads really do keep the wheels dust free.
