Seinfeld drove a SAAB

Thanks, Klaus.

I have no kids and I'm not interested in the years prior to the GM acquisition. By the way, I love the center ignition placement! It's just different.

After a bit of research, I've discovered that the 4 cyl. ECOTEC engine used in the current 9-3 model (and countless other GM models-worldwide) was engineered by SAAB and German Opel. The tranny is from AISIN which is the current choice for Volvo's 5cyl models, including the 850. FYI...now that Spyker is in charge of the SAAB brand, it will halt the use of AISIN and will build it's own trannies for their product lines.

Various SAAB blogs seem to repeat a higher than usual reliability factor (@ edmunds.com too), so I felt a bit more at easy at a possible purchase.

I will always be a Volvo fan, I'm just looking for a different look. Before the new S60 went on sale, I was getting bored with how Volvos started to look just run-of-the-mill. Hopefully NAUGHTY is back as it was with the 850 line.

Thanks. Dan
