S60 2.4T AWD and certain variants eliminated ALL 2002

It is official. The S60 AWd will come in September 2001 as a 2002 model and will carry the badge "S60 2.4T AWD".

This car will only come w/ sunroof. Non-sunroof AWDs will not be available in the US.

Furthermore, for those who are interested here are the latest developments (as far as variants being eliminated from the ordering system), effective January 1st, 2001:

C70 w/ manual transmissions (only through a special order)

S60 2.4 Manual w/ sunroof

S60 2.4T Automatic w/ no sunroof

S60 2.4T AWD Automatic w/ no sunroof

S60 T5 Automatic w/ no sunroof

V70 2.4 Manual w/ sunroof

V70 2.4T Automatic w/ no sunroof

V70 XC w/ no sunroof

S80 2.9 w/ no sunroof

S80 T6 w/ no sunroof

Sport Chassis is available as an option for the S60/V70 T5, now (20% stiffer shocks and larger front and rear anti-roll bars)

Simulated wood trim has been eliminated from the T5 variants; aluminum mesh inlays are standard, now. Simulated wood inlays cannot be ordered, even under a "special order" status.
