Increased wear is an issue but with proper preventative maintenance such as keeping a good eye on all vital fluids and changing the oil regularly you should be OK. Most have found that it is a price worth paying for the increased HP and fun! Consider Wetterauer, I've had their chip in my '95 850 Turbo for about a year and a half now and not a single problem as well. If you live in Canada, there is also a Canadian distributor in Alberta. Reply if you want any contact info. I'm pretty sure you'll be very happy with the increased power of any aftermarket chip if you decide to get one, good luck with it.
