Oil Changes V70-XC70 2001

Thanks to all for the rapid and good advice. Called the local dealer (not where I bought the car) and the parts guy said that he had the replaceable cartridges. I haven't heard anyone using cartridges in a long time and I haven't ever owned a car with them. Looking under the car, the filter looks like a standard canister but he owner's manual makes no reference to the type or location of the oil filter. Anyone have any tips on how to remove the assembly and replace the cartridge or should I just give up and let the dealer do it?
