I have the same issue, usually after driving around town and then letting the car idle (while at an ATM, getting a coffee, etc).

I am right with you and the pretense it was only supposed to kick on first thing in the morning. To be honest with you I don't always hear it in the morning, but can definitely hear it as indicated above. I had the same exact behavior from a 98 S70 n/a that was my daily driver back in 2006.
