Air pump running after warm up, perhaps

Same as the 850. When it is cold (engine start), I cannot hear the pump but can feel the air pulsing through the air tube.

My IAC makes a wirring sound when the key is in posII, but no screams.

The tranny is quieter now than it has ever been. Cold starts used to have a moan that got louder until 2nd, then it went away. Now it is reasonably quiet during the warm up process.

Why would the air pump scream like a jet engine when the engine is warm? Why would it even be on is the real question.

I wish I could make it repeat itself on demand. It doesn't always do it.
