Yes, just because all of the pounding they take. Either the IPD heavy duty or OEM XC90 versons. When the seats break, you can easily turn the large center nut clockwise without having it spring back to its original position, plus noise while driving.

I did not bother replacing the bearing on my 1998.

If you get Sachs (OEM), scribe the original strut location on the control arm so the new one can be placed in the same spot. You will still need the front aligned anyway.
