Reasonably priced 3309 fluid? Call a Toyota dealer and ask what they charge, much cheaper than Volvo.

BTW, your grandfather is correct. Flush the tranny at 70-90K, and then at 50K intervals. Do not go to a chain that uses a power flusher, they usually over pressurize the system in trying to make it flush faster and that breaks seals.
