Timing Belt Replacement V70-XC70 2003

When you do switch to synthetic, there will be a teething period. You'll probably burn through a bit of oil on the first and maybe second oil change. Stick with it and you'll get back to proper oil use after that. Actually if your synthetic is real synthetic and not the hydrocrack stuff most companies try to sell as synthetic, then you'll probably use less oil than if you were using dino oil.

I would definitely recommend the AutoRx treatment before you switch to synthetic.

I wouldn't go for the super-long drain interval right away either - the synthetic will clean out your engine real nice but all the junk it picks up will be suspended in the oil too. Change it out at a regular 5000 mile interval on the first one to get that crap out of there and give yourself a new filter.
