AC relay S70 1998

Ordered the relay on Monday and it came in today. It was even in Volvo packaging and looked exactly like the old on. Installed it and turned on the ac, no change and no cold air. Disappointed to say the least. The ac clutch did not engage.

The only other thing I did was to check the charge. The last time I checked it, the temperature was 62 degrees that day and the charge showed 40. Today it is about 80 degrees here. Took the car for a long drive and when I returned to check the charge, it was 100 and in the red. Does this give another clue? Is this normal?

Thanks
