Seat Control (Length/Height) Buttons go on and off V70-XC70

The seat controls on the left side of the drivers seat in my 2002 V70 Cross Country keep going in and out when I want to use them. In the morning, before I start the car, they work fine. But after I put the car in drive, they do not work for another 24 hours. I am taking it to the repair shop next week and that issue IS on my list BUT, while cleaning the car's interior this morning, I put the seats ALL the way forward and now they will not go back. I can't even get into the drivers seat. Is there anything I can do about this or do I have to wait until tomorrow and try to get the seats to go back.

Any help is greatly appreciated and thanx in advance.
