Groaning noise when turning steering wheel? S70

Hi Everyone,
I have a groaning noise that first appeared during winter when the car was left outside in freezing temperatures.

The weird thing is that now the temps are above freezing as in 50 ish. I still hear the groaning sound when turning the steering wheel?
Does anyone know what this means? Something bad? An easy fix?
