Nice looking scanner, but will not read/clear any SRS codes. The Swedish company that makes scanners for Volvo stopped selling to the public last year, it was advertised at $285 and could read every Volvo system. I didn't buy it because it didn't work for the 1998 year.

Notify your friend that as long as the SRS light is on, the SRS system will not function. No air bags or pretensioner for seat belts.

Your generic scanner might pick up an ABS code or two, most likely he needs the ABS module re-soldered.
