Re: Steering squeak S70 1998

Mine does/did this where the steering shaft goes through

the firewall. There is a rubber boot around the shaft that

holds grease. I had to add some grease to keep it from

squeeking.

To test, sit on your knees outside the car with

head/ears down by the pedals (the door is open)

and reach up and turn the wheel. If the squeek is

coming from where I described you will be able to

easily hear it.

I pulled the rubber boot back and added some grease.

I don't recall what type other then it was white grease.

That was 2 years ago and has been silent since.
