Heated front seats 850 1997

I'm in the process of buying a 1997 850 GLT wagon and it has the cold

weather package and leather interior. I've test driven, and it didn't appear that the heated seats were working. I mentioned to salesman, and they claim to have tested and said that there were 2 different heated seats that year,(1 heats to 102 degrees and the other only to 87 degrees), and this is the one in this car. I had test driven a base GLT wagon with cold weather package and with the heated seats, they were noticeably 'HOT'.

Is the dealer pulling my leg?? Does anyone know about this, and how could I verify??

Any help would be appreciated!!
