Oil 10-30 why not 20-50 on Turbo ?? 850 1994Turbo

I used to own a Lotus turbo Esprit back than they tell us to use 20/50 to hepl cool the motor.. because the 4 cinlyder are runing hot...

I am up for and oil change this week.. the 850 turbo my current car have 114,000 milles on it last owner are using 10/30 oil

I live in California... should I stay with 10/30 motor oil ? or there will be no problem if I change to 20/50
