Re: CD Changer 850 1995

Yeah, you can get an aftermarket Alpine branded CD-changer to work with the stock SC-816 CD-ready cassete radio on the 850s. All you need is an adapter plug that can be purchased at most car stereo stores. The adapter mates up the pins properly allowing you to use the SC-816 CD controls. Paying for the changer and adapter is still way cheaper than getting the Volvo changer (which is just an Alpine after all with a large markup). Also, if you go with the FM-modulated changers (the ones with the separate remote controls) that work with any car stereo you are sacrificing CD quality sound and only getting FM sound quality output (which is OK for some people I guess).
