Prospero,

on a sedan it is on the left side of the trunk near the tail lights. If you peel the carpetting you should see holes covered by foam-rubber material. You just screw through that stuff (there is thread on the holes) with the bolts that come with the Volvo CD changer bracket. That bracker also mates perfectly with that spot in the way its sheetmetal is shaped. It's very sturdy once it's installed. Also, it shields the CD changer from the trunk contents. If you have any questions I can send you some pics.
