TRACS & ABS warning lights turn on intermittently 850 1996

Just traded in my 940 for an 850, been pretty happy with it so far minus the issues I've found so with this supposedly "Perfect condition, nothing wrong with it" car.
The latest thing is that the ABS and TRACS lights turn on at the same time intermittently. A search of the forums seems to point to it being an issue with the TRACS/ABS control box, however a few people have said it might be a speed sensor. Anything else that could be causing it?
I've found a couple people on ebay who charge $90 for a rebuilt one if you send in your old box, anyone have experience with these people?
I know from experience with a few of my 940's relays that a lot of times electronics failurs are usually the result of a weak solder on the circuit board. I have a lot of experience modding and building guitar effects and such, I was wondering if there was a chance this is something I could fix myself?
Thanks in Advance,
Rev. -K
