cam position sensor failure at 230k km 850 1994

Hi FYI,
last week I was twice stranded for 5to10min but was able to drive further. then last Friday the final no start at office park yard. OBD said at A6 3-1-4 ie cam pos sensor. I tried to clean the connectors but no help, thus switched new sensor today and drove the car home. thanks to this forum the sensor failure is known as one of those to expect after this many years in addition to OBD ofcourse. The sensor was 80EUR (expensive one) but much much less than transportaion and dealer costs and switching time less than half an hour DIY.
