Why 12qts transmission fluid when owner manual said 8qts max? 850 1994TURBO

Thanks to all I flush my transmission today boy it was black not brown, this is the best thing I ever done...

But owner manual said maxium it can only hold is 8 US qts (7.6 litters)

Why do I put in 12qts ...

But I do just like every one said 12qts I do...
