K&N air filter ok with MAF sensor? 850 1995

I've been using K&N on my motorcycles for 30 years. None of them are FI so there is no MAF downstream. It's time to R/R my 855Ts filter. Is there any problem with the K&N oil fouling the MAF? I know some guys don't oil the filters but that defeats the purpose.

I'm not interested in any performance increase, just saving money on Mann's.

I use the K&N squeeze bottle to oil the bike filters, is the spray easier to control?
