That clicking noise is the compressor cycling. It will do that at idle, so try to run the engine at around 2000 rpm and the compressor should stay on.

How much R134a did you add to the system? If you had zero pressure, which is not a good sign, and you only added 12 oz, that will not be enough. The system needs at least 24 oz. The pressure should be about 60psi immediately after shut off.

When you add a can, don't point the can directly upside down, but at 9 or 3 o'clock and shaking it slightly. The system should use up the entire can.

When it is over 90F outside, close the fresh air vent in the center vent on the dash.
