Hi Paul,

Did you get a chance to work on that regulator?
There's a slim chance that you can adjust the regulator.
there are some adjustments but I was unsuccessful in fixing
my buddy's 850 wagon and got a boneyard regulator for $35 that did the trick.
It looks like the pinion (Drive gear off the motor) was badly worn here
and if you could replace the pinion gear you'd be in business. But they just
sell you a new regulator. The boneyard option is so-so since you get another
worn gear and who knows how many cycles are left in it.

You'll see the pinion gear maybe about an inch in diameter, and 5 or 6 teeth.
I Think when that gets slop , you're dead. See if the bolts allow
some takeup of that slop. I had the regulator swapped out before I recognized
the root problem. If you can take up the slop put some wheel bearing grease on that pinion gear.

Bill
