Surprisingly, I found a full description for the PNP switch replacement on http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com plus a transmission diagnosis file that let me run the on board diagnostics for the car. Once the diagnostics were run the fault cleared and I was able to reset the fault.

What I did was pull the console and check all of the wiring under neath for a short, then I took out the trans mode switch, disassembled it for cleaning and put it back in. I then removed the PNP switch, which was an after market replacement, opened it up for an inspection and cleaning, then reinstalled it in the car.

Once the diagnostics showed no problems, I took the little girl out for a test drive. Now it is back to the inlet for some more flounder fishing tomorrow. Life is good at Myrtle Beach!
