AC fiasco 850 1996

Sorry for my late response, unavoidable. Before I do something I shouldn't, you stated I may have overcharged my ac. Should I let some of the freon out and recheck the pressure? The reason I ask is your statement "you need to find the leak". If it was leaking wouldn't the pressure be dropping? Should I let most of the freon out and try another can? Thanks again for listening.
