Hello! back again with my 95 turbo with a billion miles questions!
I've waited a long time to post this so that I knew some decent info to share.
Ok, so my car hesitates. . . .or misfires. .. . or stalls. but only at certain times.
I go to work at 4 a.m. and the whole trip there the car drives perfectly. EVERY time. However, after my 8 hour shift, or anytime the car has been driven and then parked and then driven again, it will hesitate the first 10-15 minutes of driving. It doesnt seem to matter what speed I'm driving, but it is not just when I accelerate. Typically it will do it when i'm just driving along at highway speeds. The car will all of a sudden jerk, and when it does it doesn't matter if I floor it or anything, it just cuts out for a split second and then comes right back to life. The car idles great, no issues there. Every once in a while if it decides it wants to do it at a stop light or something and my foot is on the brake, the car will die, but it always immediately restarts no problem.
I found it strange that it only does this when the car has already been driven that day and never first thing in the morning. . .
What I've done so far while the car has had these symptoms and no change after repair:
New Coolant temp sensor
New MAF
Cleaned throttle body and EGR valve
New Plugs and wires
New Fuel Pump and filter
New Air Filter
New Thermostat
New Cap and Rotor
I checked the codes before and it said to check the MAF . . thats when I replaced that. It also said misfire in a couple of cylinders. I reset it and the misfire codes didn't return.
I do know that my turbo is throwing a bit of oil, but it seems to be on the exhaust side more than the intake side. Could this oil build up be hurting the O2 sensors at all? just a thought. . .
thanks for any help, this is really unnerving not knowing if the car is going to kick it or not.
