Uneven tire wear? Why? V70-XC70 2004

I bought a set of the 850 Turbo "blade" wheel and outfitted them with a new set of Nokian NRZi's, for my 2004 V70(which is a very sharp wheel/tire combo for this car IMHO). The problem is after only about 3-4000 miles the front left tire is wearing a Lot quicker than the others. It is not uneven wear as I would expect if the alignment were out, but the wear is even across the face of the tire. These tires have a unique depth measurement system where there are numbers cast into the tire that indicate the wear level. 3 of the tires are at 6, and one has worn to 4. I understand these cars can only have a 2 wheel alignment, and only the toe adjustment at that, so could the alignment being out cause this wear, or is it likely another issue? I didnt see any obvious signs of problems when I looked at the front end parts? I went to Firestone and they wanted 29.99 to do an alignment check, another 39.99 to look at the front end parts + you know they would want to sell a whole new front end, and then 79.99 for an alignment. I told them forget it.
