Strut Tower Braces 850 ALL

If you guys really want the sucker to be stiff, why not weld the hinged ends? I have a friend with a VW Golf who has one made from steel tubing. We got measurements form the Neuspeed strut tower brace and followed them as precisely as possible. The only difference is we used T-304 stainless and fabricated it out of three pieces. Two (one left one right) strut tower brace mounts with angled arms coming off of them. We did this sheet thick gauged sheet metal welded to angle cut steel tubing. And one long beam with angle cut ends. We cut the edges so that the tubing would meet at angles easily welded. We mounted each strut tower brace mount alone. Then welded the beam piece on its own. BTW, before installation, we roughed up the surface a little so that we could paint it after installing. This works best if the car is held up on jack stands and not sitting on its wheels. The guy loves the thing, and we've gotten offers to make more. Two years later, no problems whatsoever. Paint is still lacquer glossy, no cracks in the welding, and the car is simply stiff as a brick now. Only problem is, that this prototype piece took an entire weekend to make. Though we could probably now fabricate one or two a day, it's just not worth it. BUT!!! If one were to get the OMP, and weld one hinge and weld on some reinforcing, I'm sure it would work similarly.
