A-Pillar broken? 850 1995

I've narrowed down my squeeking problem to my A pillar. I hope that's what it's called. It attaches to the front strut and goes down to another piece of metal. Whenever I tug this stiff arm, I've noticed it squeeking, but there is very little movement. I've tightened both bolts, but I still get the squeek. Could the metal simply be worn out and need replacement. Also is this a hard piece to reinstall. I assume it just needs to be bolted on by holding on the the nut with one wrench/vise grip and turning the wrench on the otherside for both ends.?.
