Transmission Trouble? 850 1995

Hi Folks,

Bought our 1995 850 wagon (70K miles) last summer and like it a lot. Although lately its been giving us some grief. Here's the rundown, any help/suggestions/advice much appreciated:

-just after christmas in very cold weather (similar to other posts) had the flashing arrow appear, with check engine, limp-home mode (stuck in 3rd), and flashing mode selector

-a few days later it wouldn't start at all

-towed it to my mechanic, they looked it over, cleared the lights, and replaced the plugs, car appeared fine

-then we start getting a strange acceleration/deceleration problem (similar to other posts). Mostly at lower speeds, when accelerating (or going up a hill) the car shifts down, then up, then down (jerking back and forth in the process). This lasts for up to 5-10 seconds then disappears.

-I pulled the following codes off A1 (Transmission) before taking it back to my mechanic (1-1-4, 3-1-3, 3-2-2, 1-2-4, 1-1-4). He checked over the car, cleared the codes, cleaned the PNP switch, checked the O2 sensor, but couldn't repeat the problem.

-Now the accel/decel (down shift-up shift) appears to be getting worse. The only code occuring now is: B2 1-2-2 (have had cruise control off)

Any ideas on the problem (or the codes)?!

Thanks,

Bruce
