Rights? S80 2000

You sound like my stepfather, a retired attorney. Right or wrong, I safely will press my luck at times mainly because to me, being in a car is a total waste of time and I sometimes try to go from point A to point B in less time, that's all (not being a menace to other drivers). There's many times where more speed (although not "legal") has nothing to do with safety when there's no other traffic to contend with and using what's called "common sence" (no legal definition). For the most part, I follow others ("traffic speed") and they're all technically (legally) driving over the limit. On some of the freeways near here, the speed limit is 65mph but almost everyone goes 80-85mph, even the police and driving at the posted 65mph speed limit is more dangerous than going with traffic in that case.
