Just did the right side parking brake cable on the '95 yesterday.

You are correct. It is not the easiest job you will perform on the car.
I had to cut the cable off and then break the plastic knurled end at the backing plate. Fishing the cable through the passenger compartment under the soundproofing mat was no picnic either. It was a pain.
