Popping Noise S70 2000

I have a 2000 S70 T-5 with just little uunder 12,000 miles. The car has recently a popping noise when braking it to stop and pressing gas to take off after completed stops. Anyone here experience the similar problem and waht is the possible cause of it. By the way, we had a 99 (Sweden built) same car but feel that the 2000 (Belgium) supension is firmer than the 1999 and roll less too. Any idea any change to the suspension in these 2 model years.
