A/C woes! 850

You probably haven't checked the compressor clutch or the pressostat switch. The switch is on the line heading to the firewall, unplug it and jumper the 2 leads with a paper clip - if the compressor does not engage and the engine is cold, AC switched on, blower on, then you might need a new pressostat sw.

To check the clutch, have everything on and running. Use a broom stick or other piece of wood and push the edge of the clutch towards the compressor. Watch out for the S belt! If the clutch engages for a little bit, then you need to shim the clutch. Bread clips work great.

BTW, the AC really doesn't work well above 95F.
