2002 S60 ABS Module Replacement S60 2002

2002 S60 2.4T ABS module needs replacing and I'm looking for the least expensive option.
Here's what I've done so far:
Took car to dealer to see if software update might fix problem. Negative. $1700 part replacement.
IPD replacement $1000.
Matty Moo in Michigan does not do that year... very sad since he refurbished my 1999 XC ABS module for way cheap!
I went to another refurb guy in the LA area and he said no, I should go to dealer for that update, which brings me full circle.
Are there any options out there for less than $1000?
