Timing Belt 850 1997

Hi Guys,

Usually on the RWD forum, but I'll be looking at a 97 GLT wagon, ~170kmiles on it this weekend. No record of timing belt being done, but it most likely has, previous owner had serviced at Volvo dealer, current guy has not had any big issues. Can I run this thing to say the next interval, I think ~210 kmiles or do these things have a 5 or 6 year time limit. Any input appreciated.

This car should be mechanical tensioner on belt? and no drive by wire, right?

Owner says it needs struts, I'm thinking it needs struts and ball joints, which means lower arms. Negiotiating point I hope. I don't think ball joints are able to be separated from the arm, correct?

Thanks.

Mike
