The first model/yr was 1992, introduced in Europe before North America. The model was then introduced in North America as the 1993 model. Technically the first two years of production are '92 & '93. After '93, the model took on some significant changes, that lasted throughout it's life untill 1997. Replacement parts as a result are easier to find with '94 and later models. Our '94 850 continues to hold up well with daily driving in extreme weather from hot summers to cold winters. FWIW, why not hold out for a '94 or later.....
