Re: Ball Joint Replacement 850 9X

Done this job multiple times on different cars. I find that it is easier on cars with the steel arms then on the aluminum equipped cars. The trick is to leave the subframe end attached. Then prise down on the joint with a long screw driver or pry bar being careful as to where is rests. With one hand press down on the bar, and with the other press the suspension assembly towards the engine bay. The joint will slip out. If not use a long blunt instrument to prise the clamp joint apart, then retry. A little (I mean a little) anti-sieze on the balljoint shaft will greatly ease removal nextime.
