To replace the ignition switch electrics, you need to remove the clamshell around the steering wheel. There are 4 torx screws, from the bottom side. Two are easy, the other two are recessed about 4 inches!

Once the clamshell is off, remove the two screws that hold the black electrical connector in place. Do NOT remove any wires! Just unplug the black box and replace the aluminum switch.
